Yasemin Adam
Paintings and Prints
Calm, meditative landscapes inspired by contemplative wanderings, inside and out. Drawn to paths, trees and big skies, often reimagined from walks on Ashdown or The Downs. The work holds a quiet unpredictability, pointing towards an unseen destination.
Each piece begins with an abandoned, discarded or donated piece of wood. Natural mediums such as chalk paint, pigments and charcoal are favourites. The surface evolves slowly through a layered exploration of scratching, adding, abrading and scraping, revealing traces of what lies beneath. Pieces are often finished with a handmade, revived or vintage frame.
The paintings hope to offer an invitation to just pause for a while and reflect.
