Gary Buckett
3D Work using found objects
I’ve spent years working with building materials while renovating old farmhouses, barns, and storehouses. That experience shaped my fascination with materials—their weight, texture, and sculptural potential. I’m interested in what makes an object art, and how forms can come together by chance to suggest new meanings.
The strength of the tools used to build, and the quiet strength of organic forms—like the exposed roots of a tree lifted from the earth—both inform my work. I’m drawn to how context and environment shift the way we see things, and how meaning can change depending on where and how an object is encountered.
