Working with oil paint on canvas and paper, Lucy takes inspiration from time spent in the Sussex countryside and coast with her family.

Lucy’s work balances abstraction and landscape drawing from the colour, movement and emotion of time spent outdoors with her family.

Pieces evolve through process allowing colour, form and instinct to lead the way. Paintings are composed of many layers of paint, working into the canvas using colour, instinct and intuition to define the composition.

The ever changing light and the transient nature of the surroundings of the South Downs are a constant source of inspiration.
