Paintings

As an artist working across various media I find inspiration pretty much

everywhere, whether in the natural or constructed worlds. With such a wide range, the starting point for me is to let the subject matter suggest the medium I should use to create my artwork of it. This can be anything from pen or pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolour, ink or acrylic. My background as a Stage Designer also strongly informs my work, especially when it comes to colour and texture. I also let a mixture of my experience and instinct dictate the style and content of any artwork, ie whether it should be loose and abstracted, or highly detailed. I’ve been working in the creative industries for most of my life, and so have a wealth of experience to draw on. However I’m still continually learning - which I love, and I don’t believe in knowing my limitations!
