Artists Statement

I've been a traditional fiction illustrator for Egmont Scandinavian magazines for many years. Recently, with semi-retirement, my painting has taken a different direction and I'm now enjoying exploring landscapes and wood-scapes in my local Sussex area with oil and acrylic canvas paintings.

My focus in landscape is colour, light, sky and realism and in wood-scape it is in exaggeration of colour, impressionism and texture.

I consider myself to be very fortunate to live within easy access of so much natural beauty; endless scope for a painter like me.
